I wrote two limericks and linked to Milou's site. I bought some organically grown plantains which were expensive as hell due to the fact that we had hurricane last year and supply fell. What did you do?
I didn't use plastic bags at the grocery store. Hurray Earth!
Yeah, starting yesterday, people aren't going to have the plastic bag choice at many grocery stores.Yesterday was a pretty normal day for me, I have to admit, but I feel like it has been increasingly easy to be eco-conscious over the last few years - thanks to a lot of people's hard work. We also live in a neighborhood where we can walk to stores and restaurants, and there is a farmer's market every weekend where we can buy fresh local foods. Our apartment gets a lot of natural light, and is well insulated, so our electricity bills are low. The only real problem we have to solve is my commute. Atlanta's mass transit system is still pretty limited for a city its size, and no buses or trains get anywhere close to where I teach. My husband, though, can take public transportation to his job. Maybe I'll celebrate E.D. today by calling in sick and sending out resumes to places closer to home. ;)No chance you posted the limericks on line, is there?
Ooops! I found them - they're awesome!
Thanks la P. H. what a hoot. They haven't started the no plastic bags here yet.
